The Double Ninth Festival is also the "Old Men Festival". Old people are especially meant to improve their health by taking part in activities on the day of the festival.

重陽節(jié)也是“老人節(jié)”。由于九月初九“九九”諧音是“久久”，有長久之意，所以常在此日祭祖與推行敬老活動（老年人尤其應該參加活動來改善他們的健康狀況）。
